Western Forsyth Post 522 Blue Squad falls to Wilkes 6-3 in spite of Winkler's performance

Cody Winkler did all he could to give Western Forsyth Post 522 a boost, but it wasn't enough to get past Wilkes, as Western Forsyth Post 522 lost 6-3 in seven innings at Wilkes on Sunday.
Winkler was hot from the plate for Western Forsyth Post 522. Winkler went 2-3 and drove in one. He singled in the first and fourth innings.
S Brown got the win for Wilkes. He allowed three runs over seven innings. Brown struck out nine, walked two and gave up five hits.
T Parsons, T Little and Z Staley helped lead Wilkes. They combined for seven hits and two RBIs.
Western Forsyth Post 522 jumped out to an early 3-0 lead in the top of the first. Western Forsyth Post 522's rally started when Brett Saunders singled. Michael Hines singled, scoring Josh Futrell. More runs came home for Western Forsyth Post 522 when Saunders scored on a passed ball and Hines scored on an RBI single by Winkler.
Wilkes scored one run in the first inning, and then followed it up with one more in the fourth. In the first, Wilkes scored on a walk by L Ray, plating Parsons.
The game's last lead went to Wilkes thanks to a third inning rally that saw four runs cross the plate on two doubles and an RBI single by J Cook.
