Western Forsyth 14 Kernersville 2
Western Forsyth got back into the win column with a 14-2 win over Kernersville in a 7 inning ball game. Post 522 got great pitching and hitting on the night. Starting pitcher Ben Currie gave up two hits and struck out six on the night. At the plate Western used a 10 run third inning to propel them to the victory. At the plate Post 522 pounded out 16 hits and got four hit performances from JT Tuttle (4-5 2B, 3B, 4 RBI’‘s) and Andre McCoy (4-5 2B, 2 RBI’‘s, 2 Runs). Jonathan Holt (2-3) hit his 4th homerun of the season and added 6 RBI’‘s to his team leading RBI total. Other leading hitters for Western on the night were Dustin Myers (2-4 2B), Q. Fulton, David Cook, Dylan Pfingst, DJ Little, and Hunter Dull. With the win Western Forsyth is now 7-2 on the season and 6-2 in league play. After a few days off, Western will travel to Wilkes County on Monday night (6/14/2010) in a non-league game.
Western Forsyth 9 Winston Salem 10
The bats were on fire early as Post 522 jumped out to an 8-2 lead through three innings of play. Unfortunately, as the night went on the bats cooled and Post 522 suffered a tough 10-9 loss to Winston Salem. Post 522 hit two run bombs from Jonathan Holt and Dustin Myers. Myers finished the night at the plate going 3-5 with 2 RBI’‘s. Other players contributing at the plate with two hits a piece were Holt, Josh Clark, and Q. Fulton. Austin Blake, Andre McCoy and Hunter Dull all chipped in with one hit a piece. Trey Vestal started on the mound and tossed five innings giving up four runs and striking out six.
Western Forsyth 11 Randolph County 3
Ben Currie led Post 522 to victory by throwing 8 solid innings while striking out 7 hitters and only walking 2. He scattered 11 hits throughout the game but held the offense to only 3 earned runs. Jonathan Holt came in to pitch the 9th to shut the door. The offense was led by Hunter Dull and Andre McCoy each with 2 hits. Jonathan Holt came up with the big hit when he belted a grand slam to put the game out of reach.
Western Forsyth 10 Thomasville-Davidson 8
Trey Vestal started on the hill for Post 522 and pitched 6 strong innings only giving up 3 earned runs. Dustin Myers came in for middle relief throwing 2 solid innnings, and Tyler Coyle came in and earned the save in the 9th on just 12 pitches. The offensive attack was led by Austin Blake, Josh Clark, Quashaun Fulton, Jonathan Holt, DJ Little, JT Tuttle, and Andrew Key who all had a multiple hit game.
