Marking post season play in American Legion baseball is just half the journey to a championship. After last night, all records are out the door and everyone still playing now has a tied record.

This Friday night, July 8th 2011, the 7th seed Western Forsyth Post 522 will travel to Mocksville NC to face off against Mocksville-Davie Post 54. One bridge and 16 miles of highway separate these two ball teams and this rivalry apart. Regardless of the outcome of this Friday nights game, both teams will advance. One team will travel further into the winners’ bracket, while the other team will make their appearance into the losers’ bracket.

Western Forsyth Post 522 is playing some of its best ball of the season, winning four out of their last five games a putting up a combined 61 hits.

“Whether you’re a 7th seed or a 1st seed, you have the same opportunity to perform in the post season. We keep our errors under control, stay focused and perform to the abilities I know we are capable of doing, we will do just fine.” Western Forsyth Coach Kevin McIntosh said.

Game time is at 7:00pm at Rich Park in Mocksville NC. Come out and support your Western Forsyth Post 522 as they begin their quest for an Area III Division Title.
