Western Forsyth Post 522 drops 7-4 game to Surry County despite efforts of Pfingst

     Dylan Pfingst did all he could to give Western Forsyth Post 522 a boost, but it wasn't enough to get past Surry County, as Western Forsyth Post 522 lost 7-4 at West Forsyth HS on Sunday.

     Pfingst had a good game at the plate for Western Forsyth Post 522. Pfingst went 3-4, drove in one and scored one run. Pfingst doubled in the fourth inning and singled in the third and sixth innings.

     Andrew Key and Josh Clark both contributed with 2 hits each, while Key, Deluca, Pfingst and Morgan all scored for Post 522.

     Eric Kalbfleisch racked up four RBIs on three hits for Surry County. Kalbfleisch singled in the third and fifth innings and homered in the ninth inning.

     Western Forsyth Post 522 had no answer for Nathan Welch, who cruised on the rubber. Welch held Western Forsyth Post 522 hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out one.

     Western Forsyth Post 522 completed their regular season with an overall record above .500 of 13 wins and 12 losses and a conference record of 8 wins and 10 losses. Post 522 will participate in post season play once again this Friday, July 8th, 2011.
