WFG Wins Back-And-Forth Affair Against SE Guilford

   WFG defeated SE Guilford 8-6 in a back-and-forth affair on Friday. The game was tied at three with WFG batting in the bottom of the fifth when.

   WFG collected eight hits and SE Guilford had 12 in the high-scoring affair

   SE Guilford took an early lead in the first inning. Jake Markle drove in a run when he walked with the bases loaded.

   In the bottom of the fourth inning, WFG tied things up at three. Elijah Knight grounded out, scoring one run.

   SE Guilford scored three runs in the sixth inning. SE Guilford's big inning was driven by a single by Jake Jenkins-Cowart, a double by Chris Graves, and a groundout by Markle.

   Jack Mullane earned the win for WFG . He pitched three and a third innings, allowing three runs, four hits, striking out one, and walking one. Mullane recorded the last ten outs to earn the save for WFG . Markle took the loss for SE Guilford. He threw two and two-thirds innings, allowing five runs, three hits, and striking out three.

   Carlos Amezquita started the game for WFG . He tossed two and a third innings, surrendering two runs, six hits, and striking out one. Ian Sweet started the game for SE Guilford. He pitched three and a third innings, surrendering three runs, five hits, and striking out two.

   Davis Hanson, Zach Lewis, Alec Munster, Knight, and Aidan Carr each drove in one run to lead WFG . Knight led WFG with two stolen bases, as they ran wild on the base paths with seven stolen bases. WFG was sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Caleb Smith made the most plays with six.

   Jenkins-Cowart, Jaylon Brunson, and Derek Hunt each collected multiple hits for SE Guilford. Markle led SE Guilford with three runs batted in. He went 0-for-2 on the day.
