Fifth-inning hitting clinic sparks blowout win for Western Forsyth Post 522, 16-2

A nine-run explosion in the fifth inning spurred Western Forsyth Post 522 to a 16-2 win in seven innings over Lexington at Holt-Moffitt Field, Lexington on Wednesday.
Robert Deluca racked up three RBIs on three hits for Western Forsyth Post 522. Deluca doubled in the third inning and singled in the fourth and fifth innings.
Jacob Russell handled Lexington's lineup with ease, racking up six strikeouts. Russell allowed only two earned runs, eight hits and no walks over seven innings to earn the win for Post 522.
Cody Adkins was solid at the plate for Lexington. Adkins went 2-3, drove in one and scored one run. Adkins singled in the second inning and homered in the fourth inning.
Western Forsyth Post 522 hammered Lexington pitching as six hitters had a field day, combining for 14 hits, 14 RBIs and 12 runs scored. Matt Rembielak lead Western Forsyth Post 522 with 4 RBI's and Dull, Clark, Deluca, Morgan along with Rembielak all had doubles on the evening.
Western Forsyth will be back in action friday evening, July 1, 2011, against Surry County at Surry County.
